Design in the new milliennium
Design as an activity is as old as civilization itself. Human beings
have always shaped the environment to best suit the needs of their
times & adapted themselves wherever they can not change the
surrounding. Design is not only about making products and communication
better, but also improvising products and systems, so as to improve
the quality of life for the user. Designers are expected to inculcate
an attitude and perseverance for the path-breaking thought through
continuous inquiry to find the obvious in the unobvious. VariaDDesign
takes the opportunity to groom young minds to attain their potential.
Established on 1st May 1994, VARIADDESIGN was commenced with a
view of Design Education and carry out projects / research in the
field of different Design streams. The institute offers a highly
dynamic environment for the budding artists and designers and provides
them extraordinary career opportunities.
Achievement & Special Activites
Varia DDesign regularly organizes exhibitions of students and professional
work. The basic objective is to expose students to Exhibition Design
and take them through the process of execution of a well planned
show. This generates confidence and hence giving them practical
experience. We have got an overwhelming response from the general
public over the past few years, which have resulted in receiving
numerous projects from various individuals and organizations as
a reward.

Methodology
Varia DDesign conducts programmes which give insight to various
elements of design by exchanging ideas, thoughts, and views through
discussions on students work, showing relevant films, interacting
with design professionals. Students are encouraged to visit important
historical monuments, museums, production houses, process houses
and also to study local areas to observe, understand and document
their distinctive character and its relation with art and design.
Opportunities for exhibiting one’s self creatively will help
to grow their knowledge along with grooming confidence and creativity
in them. Each student is individually attended and nurtured as per
their capacity and talent. They are also helped to develop relevant
skills in order to be able to exhibit it.
Experienced professionals and faculties with the artistic integrity,
broad intelligence and deep responsibility influence the students
in the right manner and clarify their idea about design world.
WHAT THE INSTITUTE OFFERS
It has been observed and proven that too little attention is paid
to the problems of art in our education system. It is the lack of
creative focus, which, if given due importance would be the source
of every new insight into the nature of art and would foster every
kind of talent.
The history of literature is studied, but the students are not
helped to develop their own imaginary power of self-expression.
From this point of view the structure of most curriculums is inadequate
and unsuitable for giving shape to fresh impulses. It is urgent,
therefore, that educators should stop thinking in terms of results
and thus clear the way for an outlook which embraces a wider field
of activities and is more alter to their finer and deeper interrelationships.
Line, place surface, color, material, space and time should be presented
to students as a coherent whole.
Discipline and freedom are thus to be seen as elements of equal
weight, each partaking of the other.
Creation of a design can include anything and everything. It could
range from minute things as a safety pin to planning a new highway
system. The essence lies in what the work can communicate. Whether
it is a symbol or a robe- it needs to speak for itself.
A student at Varia Institute is exposed to various disciplines and
intensive training to meet the various needs of the industry with
extreme versatility. He is made to realize his potential by effective
visualization, unbound creativity and by developing the necessary
skills. The Institute strongly believes that the cultural heritage
of our country can be made a foundation to develop the ethics of
any design process.
